The CAPPADOCIA project is thrilled to have participated at the 7th European Aeronautics Days that was held on 20-23 October 2015 at the QEII Centre in London, UK. The Conference, attended by more than 1000 delegates, 280 key speakers and 90 exhibitors, was a great success and has acted as a positive enabler for industry, governments, the European Commission, research institutions, academia and many others, to come together, interact and present strategic perspectives and achievements in aviation research and innovation.
CAPPADOCIA had a twofold role in this successful event. Firstly, it took part in the session dedicated to the four “sister” Coordination and Support Actions of the call dealing with the same topic but different domains (i.e. CAPPADOCIA, CATER, OPTICS and FORUM AE), with a comprehensive presentation given by the project Coordinator, Mr. Fabien Marty from Efficient Innovation. Moreover, the CAPPADOCIA Workshop on “Impact of developments on Maintaining and Extending Industrial Leadership” was successfully held as a parallel session at AERODAYS2015. The Workshop was attended by key RTD people from the European aviation industry, organizations and policy makers. The fruitful conclusions of the workshop will support CAPPADOCIA in providing recommendations for updating the SRIA (affecting concurrently the research and innovation programme in the second half of Horizon2020 and beyond). The proceedings of the Workshop will be shortly made available to the public.
Furthermore, a brief CAPPADOCIA presentation of the project’s concept, objectives and expected results was hosted at the EASN booth. Additionally, CAPPADOCIA flyers as well as copies of the common CSAs Brochure were also circulated to the participant of AERODAYS2015.
We would like to thank all those who showed interest in the CAPPADOCIA project and its up-to-day findings. An even bigger thank you goes to all those who participated at our Workshop and shared their viewpoint and experience. Your contribution has been extremely valuable and greatly appreciated.
