During the 6th EASN International Conference on “Innovation in European Aeronautics Research”, which was held on 18-21 October 2016 in Porto, Portugal, CAPPADOCIA has successfully organised and held a dedicated workshop entitled “Strategic cost efficiency & innovation enablers for a competitive and sustainable European aviation”.
The main objective of the workshop was to enable the European aviation community to contribute to the identification, justification and prospective implementation plan definition of the industry’s most critical issues for its future competiveness and sustainability:
- Collaborative supply chain;
- Factory of the future;
- Standardisation and certification;
- Innovative emerging trends.
The CAPPADOCIA workshop was held on 19 October 2016, 14h30-19h00. During the workshop the attendance was varying somewhat, with a continuous presence of more than 20 participants. The agenda of the CAPPADOCIA workshop listed an overall introduction to the workshop, introduction to each of the four critical issues, and five-minute contributed pitches on the four critical issues. The introductory and review presentations were based on a draft version of CAPPADOCIA’s third year recommendations report (internally also known as the “position paper”), which was based on the results obtained by the CAPPADOCIA team during the third year up to the workshop. Twelve pitches were contributed in total by the participating experts.
