The first CAPPADOCIA mini Workshop on «Impact of the developments of Aerostructures on Maintaining and Extending the European Aeronautical Industry Leadership» has been successfully held on 4 September 2015, in the frame of the 5th EASN Workshop on Aerostructures, in Manchester, UK.

The main objectives of the workshop have been to:

  • Identify what recent developments in Aerostructures are now worth being taken into account in the prospective update of the SRIA and future EU funded research topics
  • Discuss the impact of these developments on the overall expected achievements for Challenge 2
  • Identify which new measures could be proposed to the European Commission and ACARE so as to better support the competitiveness of the whole European aviation industry

This CAPPADOCIA mini-workshop, attended by key Aerostructures RTD persons, offered room for an open discussion and accordingly, several participants presented their individual standpoint through a five-minute pitch, on Aerostructures latest promising achievements, bottlenecks, gaps and opportunities.
