The first common “sister” CSAs workshop, entitled “Coordinating research and innovation in the field of Aeronautics and Air Transport: Overview and latest achievements of running CSAs”, was successfully held in October 29th 2014, in Aachen, Germany; in the premises of RWTH Aachen University, in the frame of the 4th annual International EASN Workshop on Flight Physics and Aircraft Design. The European Aeronautics Science Network’s annual Workshops have progressed to be very successful events where a large number of attendees from academia, industry and research establishments are offered the opportunity to discuss latest achievements, including more than 90% of the EC-funded projects running at the time, on the respective technological fields.
Like its predecessors, the 4th EASN Workshop has been a major dissemination event for running EU-funded research projects, as well as it successfully offered the wider Aeronautics and Air Transport Community a forum to discuss on policies and actions supporting the advancement of aeronautics in Europe. In this regard, a separate session within the EASN event was held for the first common “sister” CSAs workshop. Explicitly, the coordinators of the four Support Actions of the call-funded presented their respective project’s up-to-date progress and main annual findings. Additionally, members of the CSAs consortia and advisory boards, as well as external experts such as ACARE representatives and Commissioners got together, interacted, as well as exchanged useful information and lessons-learnt.
